These weatherproof and customizable garden markers are my secret hack to a professional-looking garden. How do I make them?
From Gardener’s Supply, grab some galvanized steel markers. Find your favorite label maker. (Mine is the Dymo 420p LabelManager.) Get some 3/4″ clear label tape.
Line 1 is the seeding date, so I know when to expect my harvest. Line 2 is the crop in caps. And so I can compare varieties to each other, Line 3 is the variety name in quotes.
This is super helpful to track disease, flavor, size, pests, total harvest numbers and more. Print your label, cut it, stick it on your snazzy metal markers, and add some bling to your garden. The labels will last for years outdoors.
At the end of year, collect them for garden planning, soak them to remove the label, and reuse the next year. So, the next time someone asks you why your garden looks so pro, tell them about this!
